Ellie enjoys exploring on the grass and is quite confident when we work on recall, STAY, and other off leash activities. She will always choose to be close to people and travel underfoot or at close distance, as she truly looks to people for direction and praise. She is a quick learner and will get very excited to train, but has such a mellow and gentle disposition that instead of jumping she will politely offer a default SIT. Ellie is reliably going to her PLACE with a nice DOWN and will STAY for a few seconds at about 5-10 steps distance, until I release her. She is always looking up with amazing eye contact, willing to work for love and affection just as eagerly as she will for food treats. Ellie is proving to be an exceptional service dog for therapy or someone with PTSD and already displays the ability to “cover” and “visit” on cue.
