We welcomed Newton into our lives around this time last year from Classic Heritage. It was a big step for our family—my husband, our two young kids, and my 80-year-old mother-in-law. While I had experience with dogs, it was the first time for the rest of them, and I truly wanted to get it right. I wanted them to experience the kind of love only a dog can give—a love I still remember and miss from my first dog.
I hoped our children would grow up knowing this unconditional love: the joy, the playfulness, the silliness, the living-in-the-moment kind of spirit that dogs bring. And yes, even the mischief—like when Newton steals their toys and gets chased around the house, tail wagging in excitement.
I’m so happy to say that all of this came true.
We named him Newton. Whenever someone asks about his name and smiles, we share the story: we have an apple tree in our front yard, and Newton has a very special relationship with gravity. Picture this—kids eating fruit, and Newton sitting patiently beneath them, serious and focused, just waiting for something to drop. It’s his moment.
We're still learning together. We’re growing as a family—with him. He’s become a part of us, and I truly can’t imagine life without him.
Sometimes, my husband and I look back on those early days. They weren’t easy—adjusting to life with a puppy was overwhelming, and for the first two weeks, we even thought about returning him. I later found out this feeling is real and common—it’s called the “puppy blues.” But once that passed, everything changed for the better.
Thank you, Classic Heritage, for bringing Newton into our lives. It’s clear how much care you put into your dogs—their health, temperament, and gentle nature. Newton is calm, sweet, and truly special. We are so grateful for the gift you’ve given our family.
